New PhD Thesis successfully defended!

Last 12th May, Dr. Felipe Martínez attended the dissertation of one of his Ph. D. students, Elena Peña. She carried out her Ph. D. project in the University of Castilla-La Mancha in the SaBio group, and under the co-supervision of Dr. J. Garde.

The thesis has been focused on the study of the automated analysis of sperm motility by using CASA (Computer Assisted Sperm Analysis), using red deer spermatozoa as the object of study. This thesis approaches several questions on deer sperm motility: How is the kinematic pattern of these spermatozoa? How cryopreservation affects to their kinematics? Is the motility associated to the season? Can we associate sperm kinematics to the success of cryopreservation?

Dr. Peña yielded a brilliant presentation of her work and successfully defended her thesis. Congratulations to the new Doctor!
