A new scientific meeting, a new topic.
We have attended the 2013 Fishgametes meeting. This meeting, supported by the Aquagamete COST action, has gathered together top experts on aquatic species from several countries. Dr. Felipe Martínez attended the meeting, accompanying several colleagues from the University of León. The results and reviews presented in many communications and posters reflected the high quality of the studies being carried out in these species. We presented the poster entitled “The hormonal treatment used to induce spermiation in European eel affects the motility subpopulation pattern”, anticipating some results that will be presented (we expect so!) in a high-impact publication very soon. The experimental part of this study has been carried out by our colleagues from the Aquaculture, Physiology and Reproduction group in the UPV (check their website —in Spanish— for more information on the meeting and information about their work).
A highlight: Our colleague Silvia González (PhD student with Dr. Paz Herráez in the U. of León) earned the “best poster” award. Congratulations!
